Exodus 34:6 (KJV) And the LORD passed by before him, and proclaimed, The LORD, The LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth
Here we can see in the Bible text what is called the marriage of good and truth. The Lord God is said to be abundant in "goodness and truth."
Throughtout the Bible, there are often two things said, where one points to good and the other to truth. This verse is interesting because of how explicit it is. In other places the marriage of good and truth together can be less obvious since other words relating to good and truth are often used. For instance:
Psalm 89:14 (KJV) Justice and judgment are the habitation of thy throne: mercy and truth shall go before thy face.
The Psalm verse says that "mercy and truth" shall go before thy face, where mercy relates to the good of the Lord and truth is obviously truth. The words "mercy and justice" could have also been used similarly, which relates to the Lord's good and truth.
